Red Spots On Baby Head, What Is It and How to Deal with It

A newborn is vulnerable towards external stimulus that might cause harm or unexpected condition. Your baby has not develop strong imune system that capable to easily deflect harmful bacteria which causing this trouble. One of the most common area infected by abnormality is the skin. It is not uncummon to found babies infected by certain kind of symptom or allergic reaction on their skin.

Baby Heat Rash

Heat rash or miliaria is commonly found in toddlers especially when the surrounding temperature rises. This symptom can be identified through small bumps or tiny blisters formed in your baby skin along with patches of red, itchy skin. Newborn Eczema

Eczema is a condition where the skin is dry, fragile, itchy, rough, and red. It can be found in all over the body but it commonly appears on the cheek and on the joint of arms or legs. The exact cause of eczema is unknown, but if the parents had eczema the baby is more likely to get it too. The good news is children tend to outgrow the symptom as it usually dissapears when they are in their teen.

 

Erythema Toxicum

Erythema toxicum or Erythema toxicum neonatorum is a common simptoms found in a newborn. It affects up to half of the baby few days after birth and dissapers within a week. It looks like red rash with small bumps which can be filled with fluid. Although it contanis fluid, it is not a sign of infection. Because it normally dissapers by its own within one or two weeks, there’s no necessary treatment required for this symptom.

 

Neonatal Acne

Baby acne or neonatal acne is a common symptom found in a newborn. About 20 percent of babies experienced this condition. The symptom looks like small red or white bumps or pimple on baby’s forehead, nose, and cheeks. The cause is not exactly clear, but some doctors belive that maternal or infant hormones cause this abnormality. In most of the cases, the symptom will dissapear by its own by the time your baby reaches six months old.

 

Baby Hives

Hives or urticaria is a common skin reaction find in newborn. Hives look similar to mosquito bites; it is a red or pink bumps sometimes with white-ish center. Hives could suddenly appear and dissapear in your baby’s skin. It commonly urges on arm, torso, or legs but it can also appears on all over the body. The size is vary, it could be circle or oval.

Hives is caused by various reasons and in some cases, it could be alarming. The cause could be temperature, stress, infection, or some kind of illness. You might need to see your pediatrician if you see the hives dissapear and reaper for more than several days.
