There’s no good, hard and fast rule when it comes to acne and pregnancy. Some women feel like they have the most flawless skin of their lives when they’re pregnant and they’re just glowing, and other feel like pregnancy makes them have more zits than they’ve ever had in their life – even more than when they were going through puberty. Sometimes women notice that it clears right up after they deliver and others feel like it worsens after. Acne can definitely be affected by hormones, and of course pregnancy causes your body to have a lot of different changing hormones, both during and after, and if you’re having issues with acne I suggest talking with your doctor. Based on their knowledge of your circumstances, whether you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, they’ll be able to tell you what treatments to use. If your doctor has already recommended certain treatments and they’re not really helping, then call them back and let them know and they’ll see if there’s anything else you can try. If you have any more questions in the future for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/IntermountainMoms and recommend us to your friends and family too.
